How much will my suspension improve with new shocks....and what affordable shocks will be the best performing. I don't want a stiff ride....but I don't wanna bounce like I do now. Also how will replaceing the bushings from the pan hard bar and trailing arms improve my suspension????

shocks will help alot. you also need to consider if any other parts have been replaced. items such as:

springs, cab bushings, a-arm bushings, leaf springs/bushings, etc.

If I were you I would put in all new shocks, springs, and replace all the bushings. I put shocks and 2 inch front and 4 inch rear lowering springs in my 70 it rides a ton better but it squeaks horribly. just my .02
Oh I just picked up some monroe shocks from oriley's i think it cost me $80 for the set. I got my springs from early classic but payed about $60 too much from a local classic restoration shop here in okc. hope I helped some!

Several months ago I was tempted to just drop in new shocks as well, until I looked at how bad my front/rear suspension was wearing.

I ended up rebuilding both with new bushings, new hardware, and new paint protection on all the parts. I reused my springs (and came up with a slick way to clean them), but most wouldn't think it was worth the time and effort to salvage them, but oh well...

You may find your suspension doesn't improve unless you take care of the entire package. Remember it's a system that works together to dampen force to the wheels in several directions. If just one part of that system isn't in good shape it will start to wear badly.
