Question 73-80 guys, what front end do you have?

Ok guys, I'm going to draw these front end's for the t-shirts. Since I'm only going to pick one, I need to figure out which front end is the most popular before I start. Please vote which front end you have or which one you'd like to see.. thanks!

edit: You can choose more than one option, if you have 2 or more trucks or if the front ends are similar looking (I'm not that familiar with each years distinctions).

I think the 73-74 is the best representation of that era. Very classic design.

Tony you might consider this as well. I have a 77, but LOVE the 73-74 grill. It might not be what we own, but what we LIKE best.

Thanks for that reference N2TRUX!

I guess I need to tally up the votes on the

73/74
75/76
77/78/79

I should have done the poll this way, but at least now I'll have an idea.... I'll start on Monday so get those votes in!

Here's some 73-74 pics that might be good for reference as well. I have pics of the other era grills if needed.

Re: 73-80 guys, what front end do you have?

I like em all!

One thing on the drawign by Thom Taylor, on the bottom he notes that the extra hood detail started in 77. I did not think that started until 78 or even 79. I say this because my dad and I had a 77 he brought brand new that did not have the detail. I see that the hood on gray on in the picture above has the detail (78 Chevyrado's post), is it a 78?

Re: 73-80 guys, what front end do you have?

You are right about the detail on the hood . 79-80 only . 73-78 had the smooth front hood . The drawing has a couple more inaccurate details also . The 77-78 did not have the headlamp bezels that surrounded the park lights . That started in 79 and went to 80 unless the Silverado package was ordered . Then it got rectangular headlights . The 83 and up grilles shown are the Custom Deluxe models and not the dual headlight setups that are more common . It is close enough though to get the general idea though.

Yeah it's not perfect, but I didn't have the heart to tell Thom...

Probably generalized a little bit because to make it "perfect" would have made it too complex; then you've lost the benefit of it being a "summary".

By the way, IIRC that hood detail was put in because there was an aerodynamic benefit.

FWIW -
