Project Crew Cab

I brought home a new project ;D

85 C30 Bonus Cab
Strangely optioned truck...

Silverado option with a/c, power windows and rugs but no rear seat?

Build Plans...
Boastside cab, shortened wheelbase and flatbed
4x4 conversion
60/14 axles
350TBI
465/203/205
42" TSLs on HUMVEE beadlocks

The overall condition is pretty good for a 24 year old truck

Re: Project Crew Cab

Got it off the trailer into her new home ;D

164.5" wheelbase a tight fit with the 79 behind it, good thing it's getting bobbed.

Pulled out most of the interior along with the rugs & padding

The floor is in good shape except for some light rust @ the front right/left foot areas.

Re: Project Crew Cab

Yeah it has the Bonus Cab instead of 3+3 emblems. I'll use the front bench for the back seat and a pair of Suburban buckets & console for the front.

The plan is to cut the doors and rockers like Montanatrout's CC over on Pirate 4x4 and leave just enough room for the power windows to operate.

Re: Project Crew Cab

Nah no resto for this crewcab.

I'm going to do a resto mod on the od green 79 Chevy... lower it, run a set of 35" BFGs and some shiny paint.

Pic of the 79 as it sits now.

That's a beast of a truck. Looks awesome. Hey while we're at it. How about a pic of the Camaro next to it.

Re: Project Crew Cab

So this truck has been sitting while i've collected parts.

My dilemma is that lately i've been thinking of building the truck as more of a driver/light wheeler than a full on trail rig. Maybe a shortbed fleetside with a 6.0/4l80e or Cummins combo.

What do you think? What would you guys do?

short bed driver its not in bad enough shape to cut up leave the cutting to rusty or beat to crap trucks. it looks like it only really needs rockers
