BBC vs SBC Front Coil Springs -
Can they be interchanged w/out issue for a weekend cruiser?
Just wondering how much sooner the SBC springs would sag with a BBC in the engine bay or if there are other issues to be concerned with. |

I've swapped big blocks into small block and even six cylinder trucks before and never had the front sag over half an inch or so afterwards. As far as I am concerned, they interchange for my purposes.

Re: BBC vs SBC Front Coil Springs -
I have a BBC in my truck with SBC springs fron ECE. It might have dropped
1/4 inch at the most. Still handles the same and rides great.

Re: BBC vs SBC Front Coil Springs -
apples to oranges here, but when I puled the small block out of my one ton, and installed a caddy big block, there was less than a 1/4 inch drop.
I say apples to oranges becouse the caddy engine is llighter than a BBC, and my truck is a one ton with HD front springs. |

Re: BBC vs SBC Front Coil Springs -
Thx for the responses everybody - just didn't want to see an issue up the road coming if I did this.

Re: BBC vs SBC Front Coil Springs -
thing to remember, they are trucks, not cars. It matters more on a car.
