22's or 24's?
Hey guys. So I'm faced with the decision whether to get 22'' or 24'' inch rims on my truck. I like the custom look that big wheels give a truck, so don't try to talk me into anything under 20''.
I'm wondering whether 24'' wheels would cause clearance problems with the stock wheel wells. Please give me you opinions. I WOULD ALSO APPRECIATE SOME PICTURES OF TRUCKS WITH 22's AND 24's! |

Re: 22's or 24's?
Go with 26" but I'm really not a fan of any wheels bigger than 18s unless there intros or coys

Re: 22's or 24's?
I dont think you can pull off a good look and stance with a 22" wheel... WITHOUT being bagged, layed out, modifications, etc. THere's a light blue truck in the for sale section with 20's and 22's out back... it's hot.

Re: 22's or 24's?
You can run 22's and get fairly low if you run a 265/35/22 up front and a 285/35/22 in the rear. If you go witha 24 you won't get as low. If you do, plan on cutting something.
Here's mine on 20/22's

Re: 22's or 24's?
It's got 3" spindles and bags in front and an ART Airbar 4 link in the rear. I have no idea exactly what that equates to.

Re: 22's or 24's?
The 24s look surprisingly good on that truck. If you really want to impress the big wheel, crazy suspension, guys. Lay out over 26s. That will get some attention. But you will be cutting everything up to do it. I think realistically, the 22s are the way to go on these trucks for the big wheel look. And they have really come around in price now.
-----> on a side note about that black & green truck. Why would you put all that time and money into it and not get your body lines straight, or the paint line straight? (And, I'm not talking the jagged look of it, but the fact that it varries a little if you were to look down it.)

Re: 22's or 24's?
20" or 22", but you have to do some really major mods to go with the 24" & the 24" pricing is still quite expensive. You have to ask yourself what your plans for the truck are. Is it strictly for show or is it a driver that will see shows only on occasion. This should help you answer your question. On my truck I really wanted to go with 20", but after taking into consideration the roads and the fact that I use it alot to tow a large ski boat I whimped out and went with 18"...just an example of using logic to screw up a choice .
And, Dv8Customs, that thing looks great! It is going to be very cool when finished. Last edited by nlped; 08-27-2009 at 01:54 PM. |

Re: 22's or 24's?
I say go with 20's or 22's but I guess it depends on what you are going to do for suspension.
