New from Northern Nevada

Hi All,
I accidently stumbled over this forum and was so excited to find all the information and stories you all had to share so I thought I just needed to join. I just recently acquired my stepdad's 74 C10 stepside, 3 on the tree manual that has been sitting for more than 15 years. My husband is a Ford and Jeep guy so he tells me I've got quite the challenge in front of me, that this is my project. That's ok, I have a few skills .
It doesn't run now but it I don't think it will take too much to get it there. the keys were lost and someone had previously destroyed the steering column trying to get the key cylinder out. That was my first step. I just removed that and pulled one from the local wrecking yard. I have it at the locksmith now getting a new key made for the ignition.
I found the build thread and will soon start my own build thread with pictures as I move along.
