Silverado Tailgate Panel
I recently picked up a Silverado tailgate panel an one of the local pick and pulls for $ 15.00. Does anyone have a template to drill the holes in my tailgate to attach it? Stupid me fot not taking measurements from the truck I pulled it off of.
Thanks, Mike

Re: Silverado Tailgate Panel
Now that is a steal! Sorry, I can't help with the measurements. But nice job robbing them of that thing.

Re: Silverado Tailgate Panel
lucky! I paid way too much for one that looked a lot better in the pics.
I was planning on making a template from the holes on the band itself. |

Re: Silverado Tailgate Panel
Let me know how that turns out. I think somewhere in my junkyard bag, I took some measurements of the (4) holes needed. I may just have to duck tape the thing to the tailgate and eye ball it

Re: Silverado Tailgate Panel
Take a piece of cardboard and make a template from the band using that, then transfer the cardboard template to the tailgate and make your marks from it..make sense?

Re: Silverado Tailgate Panel
I would make a template or measue the one you have . I would not take measurements from another gate since they arent always in the same spot .

Re: Silverado Tailgate Panel
Once I put some grease on the clips on the tailgate band and had somebody help me set it in place and when i removed it you could see where the holes needed to be drilled

Great idea! I have the rear panel too and I've been wondering how to mark the holes. I will try this for sure...

Re: Silverado Tailgate Panel
Thanks Tony_SS. I will give this a try after I do the engine swap and re-hang all of the front metal
