Post pics when you get it installed.
I'm considering the same thing, just get rid of the hard top forever... |

Re: topless in in so cal!!!
the top fits awesome! good work and stitching. but my rail holes did not line up so i had to drill new ones, no biggie easy fix. had to drill all the holes in the windshield header, that was easy.

Well, I thought long and hard about this! A couple reasons why not. 1. Sold my hardtop. No chance of ME ever putting it back. 2. Truck is in pre-body work stage. So if I ever do the body work so easy to spot weld 17 spots. Could take me about 45 min to close up 17 little holes. 3. Im not sure 5 screws (holes) is enough to hold header bar under extreme flex. 4.My truck is not rare or of unusually high value. 5. Header bar was not offered when I bought the softtop. But I would have made one anyways. |

Re: topless in in so cal!!!
I'd like to see some changes to it before I make the plunge.
Would be nice if the side windows would zip out. Basically use the top at that point as a sun screen but have all the sides opened. I'd also like to see one that doesn't require so many damn holes to be drilled in the truck. I didn't buy an arizona rust free truck to swiss cheese it I'd also like to see them made in white. The black would look horrible on our blazer. If they can make them this way for the jeeps (and I know they do because I've had them) then they can be made that way for our blazers too,,,,just sayin' Last edited by Firebirdjones; 03-27-2010 at 10:51 PM. |

Re: topless in in so cal!!!
They do make one in white. They have it in black, charcoal, and white. Seems like there are a few guys on here thinking about getting one, myself included. I wonder if we could put together a group buy and maybe swing a deal with Softopper?

Re: topless in in so cal!!!
I have one of their tops and I love it too.
I used the header bar but that is a good point about flexing.....not sure on that one but it holds just fine otherwise. The sides will roll up and there are tie downs to hold it up, the rear does the same. So you can roll it all up and run with only the top as a sun shade. They do make a zip out rear window that can be replaced with a screen. It comes with a boot so it can be completely rolled up and stored in the boot for a topless ride and if/when you get caught out in the open in a storm, it's still there for protection. It's a very good top in my opinion. I gave my hard top away too.

I'd rather zip them out and lay them flat before leaving the house, and let it be. But that's just me. It wouldn't take much to sew in some zippers while making these tops. If they could do that I'd go for one,,,,even if it did cost more for the zippers. |

Re: topless in in so cal!!!
These things are "production" tops.
Once you get it....you can certainly modify it. Or, give them a call and see if they can make a customized top just for you. Either way...it's gonna be more than a "production" product. These are not customized tops...so you really shouldn't expect one ;-)

That's what I was thinking, once the plastic window go bad. I have a local upholstery shop cut the window out and put me some zippered ones. |

Well shucks. Figures they are gone now. If I can get a top made like that I'd buy in a heart beat.
