Saw this at a car show last week.....
Don't know exactly what year it was, but I know its earlier than a 67, but thought it was worth a 2nd look.

But the aircleaner set up reminds me of all the air ducting I am doing right now in my attic...

from the looks of the folded seam at the very front of the "riser" tube, its made of HVAC ductwork tube from a home supply store, my vote for cheezy...

Is it a gutted muffler? I'd scrap everything above the carbs. Thanks for posting though.

Looks like a mesh screen not a plug. Maybe he isnt done with the hood yet and that is why it isnt on the truck.

That's a '66 grill in it. It was the first year GMC switched to the squared off lettering with the red inserts.
