Nothing really all that big but thought I'd post some pics of my conversion. I forgot to take pics of the passenger side before so the sides won't match but you get the idea. I will be posting more pics of my project over the next month or so.

I ended up taking the spindles off of a 74 Silverado in a junk yard and sandblasting, primer and painted the old parts. I still have to make some adjustments to the steering and brake lines. Next on the dock is to take the old 350 engine out and install a 4BT I bought off of one of my customers. I am also, sandblasting the last half of the frame and boxing it in and reinforcing it with new steel that is at least a 1/4 inch thick. I am adding a 3/4 ton rear axle out of a 84 suburban and converting it to disc brakes as well. In doing this, I will be converting the truck over to a leaf spring application.

looks good,,,what yr is your truck?, also, do you know if the center link was changed? iam in the process of a conversion for my 68 using a 71 donor truck, are the center links the same as 71 or 68? iam using all 71 72 ,parts in the conversion... anyone else with this info, i would really appreciate it.....thanks

Mine is a 69 C10. Center link? Are you referring to the steering? New to the whole truck lingo.

The '71-'72 Centerlink is different, (and so are the tie rod ends), than your original '68 centerlink.
Since you are using ALL the parts from your '71,... you will be fine.

The center link/crosslink is the steering component that the inner tie rods connect to.
I assume you used all the steering off your '74 donor truck?

Actually I haven't gotten that far just yet. Even though I have taken a look at that and realized that the stock components weren't going to work. I had planned on either having a machine specialist mill this to the specs I needed or go back to the junkyard and find me the extra parts I need cheap. Either way, it is a small and easy fix.
