Comfy new seat!
I just finished putting an '88-'98 bench seat into the '63 today. Boy do I like how nice that is! Good fit, comfortable as all get out and easy to do! Just thought I'd share my excitement.

Re: Comfy new seat!
Hey, does the seat make you sit closer to the steering wheel? How about headroom?

Re: Comfy new seat!
Sorry guys, but I don't have photo software on my computer.
And Cort, I don't really notice too much of a difference between stock and this one, other than sitting just a hair higher. Funny guy, Ron!!

Re: Comfy new seat!
Not sure if you can tell anything but here is a Photo of mine-
http://s185.photobucket.com/albums/x...urrent=012.jpg It used original front mounting holes. Plenty of head room, wish there was more leg room, but I have the tank in cab still. I can measure (something) if anybody wants. While grabbing the seat, grab the carpet behind it, it fits our trucks pretty well, just requires holes for the push clips. David |

Re: Comfy new seat!
If it looks anything like astrochimp's, then I'm excited too.... Looks good. At least tell us what color yours is.

Re: Comfy new seat!
Forgot to add, I grabbed the seat belts from the truck also.
For the retractors I had to trim some plastic on the seat (hidden) side to make fit. made backing plates for the other points, IIRC 2" x3", for the shoulders you need to weld a nut to the plates, all easy install except drivers shoulder due to gas tank. Re: Comfy new seat!
Here is some data on '90's vintage seats:
The guy I bought my '65 from said it had a '91 Chevy truck bench seat in it. It has the small fold down arm rest in the middle. He had it recovered so other than the seat brackets it's hard to tell what vintage it is. I am about 6'1, 180 pounds. The seat isn't too close to the steering wheel. Once I remove the tank from the cab I should gain a little bit more room, but not more than about an inch. Here's a photo. Last edited by lakeroadster; 09-25-2009 at 09:04 AM. |

Re: Comfy new seat!
It installed just as astrochimp said and it is a light tan. So it is very close to the interior Fawn paint.
