What's the proper way of restoring the paint in your side trim?
When I restored my truck years back my trim was in decent shape, however the satin black paint was horrible.. I sat down with lacquer thinner and a rag and stripped it down perfectly clean. Now I'm wondering how I can restore the black paint in the trim. Do you guys use adhesive vinyl or paint? Also, how do you get the little thin areas in the upper moulding?

I stripped them as you did and masked off the area on the lower with masking tape. I then lightly scuffed them with a grey 3m scotch pad. I "dusted" them with selfe etching primer in a rattle can and then sprayed them with rattle can "trim black" from NAPA. They turned out GREAT with the new wood grain stickers. On the top moulding i masked them off with thin blue masking tape from napa, dusted them with selfe etching primer and painted them.

Krylon Satin black should be a good match, too. I use it for everything.
