My barn find '70 C/10
Well, we went to buy a '77 Camaro Rally Sport in a barn last weekend (and did). Got there and had to move this out of the way to get to the Camaro. We were offered this too, and struck another deal for it before we left. Made another trip this weekend to get it- just got home tonight from digging it back out in the cold and rain..
It's just another Dark Olive 6-cyl/3 ott, but it's a short step, it was cheap and I like it. Hot battery, fired up nice, and drove it right up on the trailer! Runs like the proverbial sewing machine. Ya gotta love the smell of old gas! Only options- it has (had) chromed hubcaps, chrome door guards, ammeter and oil gage- that's it. Looks like it came from L.C. Smith Chevrolet in Ellijay, Ga. We stopped to pressure wash it (40 degrees!) and decided it looks better wet

You need a 489 Big Block STROKER and a Turbo 400 and disc brakes! If I ever find a 67 Stepper that is what I am going to do! I looked at a few this past summer. Some people say it's RUST FREE, but that term seems to be subject to interpretation!!!!!

It's always good when an orphan finds a new home. It's sort of like a story that has a "Happy Ending."

If you were closer... I'd ask if you want to trade that three on a tree for a th350...

Re: My barn find '70 C/10
Ok, I'll put a couple up of the Camaro if nobody minds.. is it ok if I like the truck better? Lol..
Thanks for all he encouragement guys! The old truck looks a lot better in the pics.. gonna need cab corners, rockers and something done with the left bedwall and rr fender, but she runs great and the shifter's still nice and tight. Haven't formulated a plan yet on what I want to do, I have to sell the '73 Burb first to finance the project

Awesome find DGulliver ... I'm just down the road from you (hwy 251) in Athens. Would love to see that truck in person sometime.
P.S. I got a couple extra stepside fenders. Let me know if I can help. Last edited by Shane; 10-18-2009 at 07:57 PM. |
