Does anyone know how much height difference there is between the stock intake manifold on my 85 LE9 305ci and te Edelbrock Performer Intake?
The reason I'am asking is I would like to keep my stock Q-jet and I'am not sure if the increased height will affect the TV cable on the 700R4 tranny.
Due to increased height of the Edelbrock will the angle on the TV cable cause a problem and will the brackets and hardware work?

Please help I know how fussy the TV cables can be and I don't want to burn up my tranny!

i dont think there should be a problem if your only gonna be running the normal performer. the performer rpm you MAY have problems with since its quite a bit taller

No problem at all with a Performer. I know this for a fact, since it's what I have.

Did you use the stock brackets and hardware for the TV cable and is this a upgrade in intakes worth the money?

Yep. All the stock parts. Hooked up just like stock. As far if it's worth it. They are by far better than stock cast iron truck 305 intakes. It will help but don't expect gigantic gains in power. A intake alone, no matter how big or good will not give you great power by itself anyway. But, we have to start somewhere and the intake is a good place to start. If you can swing, I say go for it. At least it looks cool.
