Re: Edelbrock valve covers

FYI on the replacement allen heads they are readily available.. (see below link)

http://www.summitracing.com/parts/EDL-4200/

as far as cleaning up the oxidized aluminum, and polishing. use the deoxidizer and Puple metal polish (see link below)

Re: Edelbrock valve covers

Thanks for the bump and the links .

This is what i found on the height , if you need a certian measurement let me know and i'll get that tonight when i take the pictures of them for forever71 .

These Elite series aluminum valve covers from Edelbrock feature a one-piece cast aluminum design with thick rails for optimum gasket sealing. The tops have raised fins that are accented by a black matte background, and then detailed with Allen hex heads that create a two-piece look from a one-piece construction. They're available in tall and short profiles to fit a variety of engine and vehicle configurations. The tall profile covers are two inches taller than stock, to clear most roller rockers, stud girdles, and other valvetrain components. The low-profile valve covers are designed to clear most aluminum rockers, and all air conditioning and alternator brackets. These classic covers come in your choice of models some with or without the Edelbrock logo, to suit your needs.

Re: Edelbrock valve covers

Here are the current pics of the short ones . I added a pic of the tall ones also . All the allens are missing from the short ones and several of them are missing from the tall ones . If forever71 doesn't buy the tall ones then they are off the market . I just realiized i don't have a set for my truck and i ordered the polish in the link above . Anyway here's the pictures . I'll take $30 shipped for the short ones since the allens are missing .

Chuck,

FYI...I have the short ones....they are about 3 inches tall....I thought they may interfere w/ my alternator, but it clears it with no issues....close..but no issues....hope that helps!...check the last few pages of my build thread....I polished mine right up too

Re: Edelbrock valve covers

If the tall ones will work with roller rockers I may be interested. Can you tell me any other issues I may need to consider before I consider a purchase? I have a Chevy s/b 350

I got them today and they look good. I think I may do these a little different though than what I was thinking. Check my build thread in a few months from now. Thats when I'll probably get to them.
