1965 body swap

I have a 1965 c-10 shortbed 2wd. I was curious how much work is involved to swap it to a mid eighties 4wd shortbed chassis. I don't know how close of a fit it might be or if extensive fabrication would be necessary. I appreciate any help you could offer. Dan

Re: 1965 body swap

There is a fair amount of fabrication required. You will need to build new body mount brackets on the frame in most every location, which will give you about 3" of body lift. It would be easier and the end result would be better if you just put the 4x4 running gear under your '65 frame. Although that would still require some fab work. The feasibility of it would depend on if you have the fab skills yourself or would you need to have a fab shop do that part?
