I've been wanting to put a newer model ('07 -'09) roof rack on my '90 burb for a while now. Haven't seen any in the local yards and through work (GM Dealership) my cost on all the parts to do it is $458.00!!!

Today I stumbled on one on craigslist that the owner had taken off her '07 model and didn't want anymore selling it for $25.00!!!!! Needless to say, I snagged it up after work tonight. Just gotta get the mounting hardware for it from work tomorrow.

I'll get pics of it later.

Oh BTW the lady I bought it from, her husband has a pristine condition 1973 1/2 ton 2wd 454 burb setting in his garage!!! I gave them this website and asked them to please join up and post some pics of it for you all to drool over like I did.

I set it up top of the burb tonight after work and it looks like I may have to do a little shortening of the carrier to get it to set right but will double check this weekend when I'm off work and it's daylight out. It was dark, windy, cold(18*)
& snowing when I set it up there tonight. So I may have set it up Bass-Aackwards.

I promise I WILL get a few pics of it this weekend... installed or not.

Well it finally warmed up outside enough (23*F) to get out there and take a few pics. First one is of the rack itself. Then a few of it sitting atop the burb but not yet mounted this is only a trial fit for now.

The P.O. had some kind of an aftermarket rack on here that he'd kept but left it's mounts on the roof. Good thing too since it would've left 8 bolt holes in the roof. The '07 suburban rack fits just to the outside of the aftermarket brackets so I SHOULD be able to just mark and drill new mounting holes and cinch it down.

Yeah it started snowing here last night about 6 and hasn't let up yet. So far we've got about 8 inches.
