Figured I'd start a new thread for you so we don't get buried in the one about paint jobs.
Lowering depends on your tastes and habits. I lowered mine 3/4 first, got used to it, and then dropped it down to 6/8. Now I wish I had airbags. Mine rides just fine (spindles & coils in the front, flip kit & hanger in the back), but bags would make it smoother than stock. Any idea on what wheels & tires you want?
For a nice lowered ride that's not too low, get 2" spindles and 1 or 2" drop coils for the front and a flip kit in the back, that will sit you down about 4/6. It will look mean and get you over speedbumps.

Thinking about 17 inch wheels, this way I keep the tires affordable for me. I really wish I lived in the USA, the tires are really expensive here just like the other parts. That's the reason I've to wait with lowering the truck. I've just bought all the new stuff needed for the rest of the rebuilt (new tube grille, new, feultank, new brake calipers, new wiring harness, new LeCarra MarkIV steering wheel, new weather stripping and much more like that.

I've got a 8 blade spring in the back, will a flip kit in the back work with this. I think it's a heavy duty package. The truck was originally equiped with a diesel engine. It's out now but the rest of the heavy duty package stayed in.

I assumed you have a 1/2 ton, not sure if a heavy duty package and a diesel mean you have something more. Anyone?

On these trucks a flip kit out back gives 5" drop with normal springs and 6" drop with the HD 8pack.

I've got a 1/2 ton, at least that's what the VIN tells me. I'm not sure if I've got the Heavy duty option but I think so cause of the 8pack and Hydraulic brake booster, no vacuum booster.

A flip kit will lower it 6 inches out back? What do I need up front to get a nice level look? I gues the flip kit will need a c-notch?

mine is 4/6 and in the front you will "just" get a standard floor jack under it with some "help"

LMAO! I have 2 jacks I have to use to get the front up. One is a small scissor jack I use to get it high enough to slide the factory jack or floor jack under it. A floor jack "just" fits under the back of mine.

i got the 4 pack springs, and i know my back is about an inch lower than mikes.

Oke, since I do not have the standard floor jack I do not really now how high it is. What should I be thinking of, 5 or 6 inch ground clearance? If that's the case I can really live with that but anything lower and it will not be fun to drive it anymore cause of the speedbumpterror in my town.
