grandm said its a 57 cameo??
i went to my buddy scotts grandmothers a few days back. i seen an old truck cab out back with the floor cut out and a bed frame welded in to keep it squared. theres also a bed on a frame. laying amongst a heaping pile of tires and scrap and junk. in his shed there looks to be every part needed to put it back together. new doors, new hood, new glass new chrome new all kinda stuff. i asked his grandma what it was and whos it was. she said is was one of her sons who moved up north years back. she said it was a 1957 cameo. i dont know anything about it. or what it looks like. anyone have pictures of one? whats the scoop on them? are they rare?

Re: grandm said its a 57 cameo??
Cameo's are fairly rare. They made around 10,500 of them from 1955 to 1958. They have fiberglass bedsides. They were the first fleetside trucks to be made by any of the big three manufacturers. They usually had alot of options, and they ALL had the big back window cab. In 1957 they would have had chrome strips running the length of the bedsides and would have also had a chrome piece on the bed saying Cameo.
They have alot of specialty parts and if you buy a Cameo it is very important to know what all is there. If it is missing alot of the Cameo only parts they can be very hard to find and very expensive. I have a 1956 model. I would post some pictures for you but I am at work and photobucket (where I store my pictures) is blocked. I am sure someone will get some pictures up here for you.
