what does your 67-72 2wd C-10 weigh?
Hello All,
Been a member for some time, but just a lurker. Lots of nice trucks here for sure. I could have sworn that my truck weighed 4280 with stock steel rims when it was an 8' fleetside bed and sb powered. That was a number of years ago though, and my memory may have failed me. I weighed it today on a State Police weigh station scale and also a certified scale at a truck stop. Got 3940 on one and 3920 on the other. I cut 9.75" from the wheelbase, and it has alum rims now, but the 21.5" rear tires are heavy, and the 500 caddy engine isn't as light as a sbc. Anyone else have one that weighs more? TIA Dave

Re: what does your 67-72 2wd C-10 weigh?
I weighed mine Friday at the dump. I was also surprised, but the guy at the scale house told me the scale was just calibrated. He said at most, I could add 100lbs, because the scale was a little light in the front (whatever that means...)
'68 C10 lwb 350 with aluminum heads, super T-10 4 speed. 15x8 Rally's and a spare rally wheel in the bed. 3800 lbs! A rally wheel weighs 60lbs, the aluminum wheels I have for the track weigh 30lbs each. I figure race weight is around 3620, 3870 with me in it Wecome to the site! Welcome Dave. I've wondered before if you were a member here under another name or something, now I know!
No C10 here. Just a couple of heavy 4x4's

Re: what does your 67-72 2wd C-10 weigh?
Hey!From Mt.Airy,MD.That might not excite you,but my family`s from Friendsville.Mom`s still there and my brother is in Spring Gap,down river out of Cumberland towards Old Town.
I know the number always stayed in my head,4,860 in a`69 4wd I had.I even lettered on the side, like trucks did out west.It was a longbed 3/4t with 14.50/37" tires, and tube steel bumpers. Also a 4spd.I`m surprised how much lighter a 2wd weighs. My shortbed weighs alot less being a rolling chassis,motor/trans,and bare cab.

Re: what does your 67-72 2wd C-10 weigh?
Tim, you must have put your truck on a diet! My '72 K20 has been on scales dozens of times back when I was pulling it at farm pulls. We had a 5500 lb. class that I always had a heck of a time making. With NOTHING in the truck, 1/4 tank of gas, 9.50 x 16.5 rubber and the tailgate removed it would always weigh in at 5300- 5350 lbs w/o driver. I weighed 200 at the time. They usually gave ya 50 lbs leway, so I would just make it.
Today I would have a problem

Re: what does your 67-72 2wd C-10 weigh?
SpecialK,
I've been through both of those towns may times. On the wieght topic, I had a '72 K-20 swd camper special. With stock 7.50 x 16 split ring rimsd and an iron intake 500 caddy/TH400, I remember it weighing 4620 on a junkyard scale. Heck, maybe I'm off on that one too. Anyone else have a weight on a 67-72 C-10? My friend has a 6' bed '72 C-10 step, and he claims that it weighs over 4300. Dave

I had a 68 short box with a 90 stepside box and a small block. It weighed 3940 lbs with me in it (about 200 lbs)
