Re: Have to get my truck smoged
Gonna have to get some converters man. You could get a cheap stock exhaust from the salvage yard just for inspection purpouses and swap out your aftermarket exhaust after it passes smog.

Yellow 76, you don't need cats on your truck. I believe 1976 is the last year of straight duals in California.

Re: Have to get my truck smoged
I beg to differ, sir. I had a '76 with true dual exhaust and it was all stock with no cats. Had it smogged about 8 years ago and I passed emmisions-sniffer and visual.

Re: Have to get my truck smoged
I have a 77 k-10 with no cats and it passed, also for your info CA now pressure tests your fuel tank UNLESS you have duel tanks. Lucky for me I have moved to a county that doesn't require me to smog every 2 years.

Re: Have to get my truck smoged
I'm sure glad we don't have inspections here in Kentucky.

My 84 3/4 ton with a 350 and 4spd did not come with cats either and passed as clean as new.

Re: Have to get my truck smoged
This is just one more thing I am glad I don't have to worry about where I live. The Denver area has emissions laws, but still not as tough as you guys have out there. Good luck with the test.
