tbi swap begins....

as many of you know i'm putting a tbi 350 injected small block in my 71 super.
i got the donor motor all cleaned up ready to drop in just need to get the engine bay all cleaned up in the truck.
the plan is to remove the stock tank from the cab and use a yukon tank that i picked up under the bed. i still don't know if i have to have the air diverter and pipe that went exhaust manifold to exhaust manifold i was going to use them but they were cracked. so can i use ram horns?? and get rid of the pipe? and air diverter?
enjoy the pics
even my daughter had to get in the pics!
last pic is my dads new truck which tbi came out of.. we swapped in older 350 carb motor into it.

Re: tbi swap begins....

You can get rid of all the air injection stuff.
Too bad you're not closer, there's a good TBI tuner here in Denver.

Re: tbi swap begins....

Up here in Saskatchewan we need that warm air to keep carb/tbi from icing up when its right around freezing. You might be okay where you are or if you don't do winter driving.

Re: tbi swap begins....

TBI computers with air pumps go open loop at idle, meaning it will run rich at idle without the air pump. You can use a computer or prom from a truck with no air pump and that will correct that problem.
