1956 rear tub?

hi everyone i am gonna put 31 16.50x 15 tires on the back of my 56 3100 stepside tires just came bed side a small amount. what does anyone have for pics/ideas for a small wheel tub. the ones CPP sell would work but where they are fiberglass i am worried about chips(if i take it to the drag strip sticky tires). i will be using wood bed floor.

stock outers on the inside. throwing some cheesy flat steel in always looks hack and lazy.

Re: 1956 rear tub?

I used a pair of early 60"s tubs and cut them down to about 8".

Re: 1956 rear tub?

I went to the local tractor supply, bought a trailer fender and modified it. Then bought a stock angle bracket and mitered it to fit around the mini-tub.

Re: 1956 rear tub?

I was going to use the 58-59 fleetsides, but have since decided to go with 67-72 suburban wheel wells. They will have to do cut down, but I like the radius and they have a similar flange on them like the bedsides.
