Why am i having trouble getting my dash pad off?? took screws out. but are there clips that hold it in place? im sure its very obvious...just not seeing it. thanks folks.

Drives you crazy when they put obvious ones in the front , then have to make it difficult by hiding some under the dash. Good Luck

They are tough to get to. You may have to take out the glove box liner and instrument cluster. I have removed them without doing it but I have never been able to get them all back on...

I just put a new dash pad in my 72, I bought it new from Classic truck parts. It is very nice but a pain to install. I had to file all the holes in the top part of the dash (where the 1/4 studs in the pad go through the steel) The studs in the new pad where too far back so I had to file a 1/8th" slot to move the pad away from the windshield so the pad would fit correctly. The pad wouldn't wrap around far enough to put the screws in. I dont know if this is a common problem with new pads but I thought it worth mentioning for anyone who buys one.

I had the same problem with the new dash pad I bought from Brothers. No way I can get the screws in. The pad is attached solid without the screws, but it bugs the crap out of me knowing those holes are there, even though you cant see them unless you get down on the floor and look up into them...

I also ran into that problem with my dash pad from brothers. They also forgot to send the new bolts. If anyone has the same problem, I can tell you that the new bolts are metric.

I used larger self tapping sheet metal screws for the holes on the front of the pad since the holes did not line up with the clips on the dash. All said, I was disappointed in the pad.
