Aftermarket Shift Knobs?
Ok, there is a post similar to this in the 88-98 section. The post there is asking what size threads there are on the column shifter for an auto trans because the poster is wanting to change the knob. Well, I am wanting to do the same thing on my '81 and I'm wondering, are there any custom shift knobs for auto on the column shifters? Anybody running an aftermarket knob? How can I replace the stock one with an aftermarket?
Thanks Benjamin.

Re: Aftermarket Shift Knobs?
There are no threads on the colunm shift handle, it's press on plastic. If you want to put a screw on handle on your going to have to thread the handle yourself.

The worst thing you could do is get into my sights, but that don't matter, you'll never know it, cause you'll never hear the shotJim or Paladin whichever you choose. |

Re: Aftermarket Shift Knobs?
I usually pull the plastic shifter knob off and drill a hole the same size for what I want to put on and then epoxy it on. I've turned shifterknobs on the lathe at school before ,pistons, 8 balls. You can use what ever you want.
