which frames work????
hey so i wanna make my 71 long box into a 3/4 4x4 will frames from 73-87 work because i see them alot for pretty cheap thanks

all you need is the axles, and swap rear springs if you need the capacity. Frames arent any stronger from 1/2 to 3/4...not enough to swap out an entire frame anyways. If you'll get your rear axle out of a c/k 30, you wont even have to modify your rear spring perches.

no its a 2 wd. i bought it because it has disc in the front but i wnt 4x4 more than that. also what years can i get axles from??

There's a member that's selling a 67 4x4 long bed about 2 hours from you. Go back to your original thread in the main forum. he posted on it with the link so you can check it out.

You can use any 3/4t GM solid front axle.The 73-up frames will work.You`ll need to raise the cab and front clip off the frame about 2" because the frames raise that much more under the bed.They are longer in the front and the core support sites rearward on 67/72 bodies.You`ll need to rig up the core support through the frame or relocate mounts.The tips of the frame will stick out and need work to accept a stock bumper.
