Talking Dumb Question

I tried the search function and coundnt find what i was looking for; maybe you guys could help me out. I just finished building a sweet sbc for my '66 lwb. Its replacing a 250 l6. I'm also swapping a '79 k-member in as well. What misc. parts/modifications (flywheel, clutch pivot ball, ect.) need to be made for my swap to go smoothly? I'm keeping my 3-speed for the time being. I have an '89 camaro t5 thats going in but i'm not sure i will have time to have a drive shaft cut before spring...$$

Re: Dumb Question

everything from your six, flywheel, bell, lower half of mounts should bolt up , not sure on pivot ball. If I was doing this swap I would use the '79 mounts
for better exhaust clearance

Re: Dumb Question

I agree with 62gmc910....... if the clutch bellcrank ball stud on the bracket for the 250 won't come off of the bracket, you'll need a ball stud for a V8 truck. They should be the same up thru '87. If you do go with the '73 and up motor mounts, the frame brackets from a 3/4 truck will fit the older frames better. However you will need to trim the top flange of the frame so they will sit back where they should. If you have access to a '73 and up frame you can take a few measurements on that frame for reference.
