Re: pics of my lastest work('56 truck)
how are you gonna handle the electronics and wiring for the engine?
I had considered one but looking on some other sites (probably a year ago) there seemed to be some concerns about getting it wired and fired. |

Re: pics of my lastest work('56 truck)
Sweet truck and awsome work.
Its hard to tell from the pictures but how much clearance do you have with those motor mounts if you pull out the engine? Do they clear the oil pan? Im sure they do, its just Ive never really looked at engine mounts that are completly verticle like that. |

Re: pics of my lastest work('56 truck)
the sides of the engine are verticle, so Im not sure why I'd have clearance problems?
the oil pan is so deep that should the engine and trans need to come out after the cab is on for the final time, they must be separated first and the trans taken out the bottom. I think Im unclear on what your asking though. |

Re: pics of my lastest work('56 truck)
Nice job, you should check that tube that's directly behind the cab, you might have issues with the bed sitting flush, I just found that out today with my build.

Re: pics of my lastest work('56 truck)
thanks guys. the bed floor will be raised to clear everything so hopefully nothing will hit.
Dad wants a cameo bed, and I'd rather not chop up a good cameo innerbed, so Im just going to build a "box" out of 1x1x16 gauge to hold the bedsides and stuff and sheet it with sheetmetal. Hopefully will have a wooden bedfloor that is hinged at the front to access the fuel tank and see the frame. but today I got the rear sway bar and 4 link/ panhard in. I'll try and get more pics tomorrow. |
