concern on cupping LCA or trimming bag cup
I have seen several threads about cupping the LCA or trimming lower bag cups. My question is when this is done are there any rubbing issues with the bag? I was also informed by a friend that said this also affects the height that you will get? I understand that it will sit lower but how much of the height will be lost?
Well just some questions I have... thanks

Re: concern on cupping LCA or trimming bag cup
it depends on how low you want to go.I have 2 1/2 " drop spindles and airbags on the front of my '68.I could trim about an inch off of the bag cups
and the bags will not rub.the bags I use have built in bump stops which is why they wont.if you cup the arm, make sure you don't go too far or they might drag if you cruise at a low ride height. ken |

Re: concern on cupping LCA or trimming bag cup
Cupping the LCAs gets you a lot of bag clearance & you can gain a inch or 2 lower ride height when the bag is at its optimum height, compared to a truck with spacer cups
Like Ken said, if you cup them too much like I did on my first set, then when you lay out or are really low, they drag first My solution to this is, to cut out the 8" hole in your LCAs, then plate the bottom of the LCAs with a sheet of steel, and drop the piece of pipe in till it touches the plating on the bottom That way you dont gain more than if you didnt run a spacer cup, but you arent dragging the ground with them either |

Re: concern on cupping LCA or trimming bag cup
I cut an inch off of my lower bag cups. It makes a big difference on the trucks stance. My bags don't rub the LCA, but you will have to trim about 3/4 of an inch off of your sway bar. The sway bar ends will rub on your bag slightly. If you cut more than an inch from your lower bag cups then they will rub the LCA. Hope this helps.
