Drive Train Swap (HELP)
I have a 1999 Chevy Silverado 1500 extended cab 8 ft. bed 4x4, and a 1969 Chevy C-20 - 8 ft. bed. 2 wheel drive. Can the complete drive train on the 1999 be put on the 1969 frame? Where can I find out how to do this, if it is possible.

Re: Drive Train Swap (HELP)
It "can" be done, but it isn't a bolt in swap. Is the 99 an OBS or NBS?

Re: Drive Train Swap (HELP)
personally i think you would be time, money, and probly easier and more dependable to put the old body on the new drivetrain. just my two cents, either way its gonna be some work

Re: Drive Train Swap (HELP)
I have heard of a few 4WD done on the OBS, but don't know of any on the NBS.

Re: Drive Train Swap (HELP)
The frame is rusted in half on the 1999 Silverado. 1969 has a solid frame and body. I'm trying to work with what I have. (Got way more time than money) Thanks again for any help. rj100
