350 with 700r4 transmission??

I just purchased a 87 swb w/a Jasper long block 350 & a 700r4 trans...the motor has around 40,000 miles & the trans. was rebuilt around 500 miles. I have all paper work...now on to my question, Im wondering what are some of the things or upgrades i need to do to keep this motor running smooth & strong for years to come? Im NOT very mechanically inclined soooo please help! i plan on using this truck as my everyday driver so i just want to be on the safe side

not realy. you could do a tune up(plugs wires cap rotter) but if th motor seems fine i wouldnt mess with it.you could chang the airfliter to a open element one to get a few mpgs
