Hey guys real quick sidenote on CPP and all you guys!

Hey guys first off waht a great couple weeks i have had working with you guys. I just wanted to say thanks and clear the air before we have a hickup. CPP ships about 300 orders a day and i welcome anyone of you guys to come down and take a tour of the shop and even buy me lunch!! Just kidding! On a serious note i can give you guys a great price on whatever you need and also my attention to the details of what you are working on but currently are ship times on anything i cannot slip in an envelope and ship postal is 7-10 days. I applologize for any misunderstandings this may have caused. You are guys are way to valuble to me as friends and customers to have any misunderstandings, i am on this board to fix problems not to cause any. Thanks guys!!

Not being critical ... just curious ... why does it take 7-10 days?

I've had really good luck shipping from Alabama to California by way of USPS in 5 days or less.

USPS is not a very economical way for ANY business to ship with. Not to Mention, great rates on bigger things shipped comes from shipping everything through them.

But saying 7 -10 days puts a nice buffer on anything being shipped. order is processed and shipped within 48 hours. and most places are 3-5 business days. so you get 7-10 days.

Easy math if you had 1900 orders that needed shipped anyhing from a universal joint to a complete front and rear disc brake kit and you are doing 300 orders a day 300x6 days is 1800 orders. The only thing i EVER use USPS for is a small envelope. 99.9% of everything here ships UPS or FEDEX. Thanks Jeff.

Great response and you say it the way i see it but not always true. Sometimes it takes up to 7-10 days to ship. If you need something in a hurry i can try to help you guys but if you need it in 2 weeks palce the order today whenever possible. Trust me i want what you guys want but this place is crazy busy.

7-10 days to ship is pretty reasonable in my book. I've waited MUCH longer... Thanks for the clarification Jeff.

Re: Hey guys real quick sidenote on CPP and all you guys!

Hey Jeff,... as long as the guy on the phone communicates this to the customer, "up front",... it's not a problem.
Alot of the big companies list online, "will ship today".

I recently made an online purchase (from another big comapny),... and each item listed approximate ship date.
All items said,... "will ship today". Except one that said, "back ordered: will ship out 2/18/10"

Is this too hard to incorporate into CPP's online programming?
Or at least say, "this item currently back ordered".

Maybe a disclaimer that says, "This item will not leave our facility for 7-10 days or 7-10 working days".

You being on here explaining helps a bunch!!!
Thanks, again for your time here.

Re: Hey guys real quick sidenote on CPP and all you guys!

I realize USPS is NOT the most economical OR the most efficient, thus the reason for using it as my example ... worst case scenario, if you will.

Anywhoo ... regardless of the shipper, I still can't fathom why it would take 7-10 days to ship an item if it is in stock. Delivery times is/was one of the biggest complaints you guys had in the past with this crowd. I would think if CPP was serious about customer service then you would find a way to get parts to said customers in a faster time frame. Not to be nit-picky, but there are other vendors that don't have this trouble as lolife said.

Not trying to be argumentative, just some constructive criticism.

Re: Hey guys real quick sidenote on CPP and all you guys!

Yes it would have been nice to know when I placed my order that it would take 7-10 days to ship + transit time. I would still have placed the order but at least I would have known when to expect the item.

So when an order is placed are you saying that most of the items are not on the shelf and ready to ship? They will need final assembly or you need to actually make the product? Do you not stock items?

Re: Hey guys real quick sidenote on CPP and all you guys!

I ordered some upper a-arms from them. They asked if I wanted silver or black, I asked what they had assembled and in stock and said I would take those. Saying that they must have some items in stock and assembled ready to ship. I would guess on something like that they may still have to put the ball joints in them since the arms are the same just different joints for the different years.
