Might send it to the scrapyard
Men...........
I am having one hell of a time getting the contact if of the last guy to own my Blazer. I want to keep it because I love that 73-80 front clip. I may just take what I need and scrap the rest. Anyone know an easy way to get a name and address when the DMV won't provide? They said they would only give it to a P.I , lawyer , DMV or, attorney. Maybe I will try and trade the whole thing for a 60-66 shortie.............

Re: Might send it to the scrapyard
Since the Maryland DMV is a headache right now, I will let my insurance company get the info that I need to title the Blazer. Then I can start cutting out rust and make things happen. I would hate to give up a factory 2wd Blazer these days. It is the only one that I have seen in this area...........

Re: Might send it to the scrapyard
Unable to get the title record from the state of Maryland so, I am going to gut the truck keeping what I want (top, interior, factory 2wd frame, glass) and scrap the rest. Anyone know a good scrap dealer in Northern Virginia????????

Wait!!!!!!! what if you get a title bond? have you looked in to that? I'm sure there are other options you might have to invest some time to make it work but I'm sure it is definitely tittle-able. Ive gone threw similar situations a time or to.

Re: Might send it to the scrapyard
The state of Maryland is not high on my list of friendly places @ the moment!!!!!!!!!!!!The info I need is available but, do to the privacy act that they have, it can't be given out. Even if someone where to get the info from them, they would be bound to keep it and not pass it along to me. In Va., all I would have to do is go the the DMV, pay $ 10 bucks, and I could get the name to the last titled owner. Then send him a registered letter for which, he has 30 days to repsond. After that 30 day period, I could apply for a title. One of my good friends suggested Broadway title. The caveat with thim is that the vehicle must be running and inspected by a mechanic and law enforncement officer prior to sending the paper work............ Exhausting. I have a possible line on a 79' or 80' K5 in the town my parents live in so, we will see what happens with that. In the mean time, I guess I will start stripping parts of the Blazer for use in my 82' SWB......................

Re: Might send it to the scrapyard
how long have you had it?in Va you can file for a abandon title.how do you know it has a Md title? did you get a bill of sale when you bought it? you can also charge a storage lien on. call some local towing yards for info.

I have had the truck for about (5) months. Bought it in Maryland (w/ bill of sale). I had my local PD run the VIN and they said the vehicle was from Maryland as well. From sitting so long, the body has some serious rust issues. Cheaper for me pull parts, keep the frame and re-body it @ a later date. I already started pulling some parts today to use on my 82' SWB..........
