rotors are shot was wondering to buy just original or are these others out there[ slotted,drilled etc] any good

you can never have too much braking power. the slotted drilled rotors will make brake fade less of a problem, and the pads will give you more bite.

Check out EBC. My dad got a set of front pads and rotors from them on his 98 F-150 and he said the difference was day and night. I've driven it before and after the upgrade and now that thing will STOP, NOW and it doesn't take as much pedal force to do so.

They didn't have the stuff for a 3/4 ton is the only reason mine still has stock brakes.

Be forewarned though, if you do get ceramic pads and keep the stock rotors, the pads will likely eat up the rotors. I have the ceramics on my focus and I have to get a new rotor at every other pad change. The metals are different and the quality is better on the EBC rotors. I just haven't changed to the EBC rotors because the stock ones are only like $25 per pair. I can afford $25 every 35-40 miles and I just like having new rotors. lol

so I'd either get both rotors and pads, or keep it all stock. depends on how you drive and what you expect it to do.

The information I've read on drilled and slotted rotors tells me that there is a slight performance increase at the cost of a substantial longevity decrease. I can see "upgrading" to drilled and slotted if you own a race car, but for a truck I think it's a joke. The whole drilled/slotted thing is a ricer fad, IMO.

My dad has approx 70k on his slotted dimpled rotors and ceramic pads. the pads are about half gone. Try to get dimpled instead of drilled. the dimpled rotors are stronger than the ones with a hole all the way through it.

If you can get EBC's do it! I have a 1ton so it isn't happening. I installed EBC pads on my motorcycle and it made a night and day difference! Very aggressive pads.

thanks for the info ,I wasn,t sure if it was just another money grabbing idea,like oil for older engines at a higher price

Yah, they really are good stuff, I don't think they are much more money then any other decent pads.
