Re: Do you know what this part is?
That's NOT a splash apron from an AD.
This is..... I'm not sure what that is but it doesn't look like its from an AD. The GMC splash aprion is similar to the Chevy. Do you have anymore pictures from a different angle? Last edited by Atomsplitter; 02-18-2010 at 10:31 PM. |

Sorry nickp51chevy your correct,
The GMCs from 1947-55 were called "New Design". http://www.1954advance-design.com/A-D_factoids/ |

Re: Do you know what this part is?
From what I've read, it was an advertising thing GMC did but it didn't catch on like the Chevy "AD" title did from their advertising campaigns. Probably didn't help that Chevy's sold 10:1 compared to the GMC's (I made up that ratio!).

Re: Do you know what this part is?
It doesn't look like a GMC New Design splash apron either. I have a couple of the '54/'55 1st types and they look nothing like that.
The '47 to '53 are different and there may even be two different versions, but I'm pretty sure that is not one of them either. The shape is too complex and it appears to have holes through it that would not belong. |
