2wd 72 blazer
WIW This is a little out of our element. Need some ideas for valve of factory 2wd 72 blazer, no motor, no tranny very rusty body. Basically rolling chassis. Has vin tag which matches frame but no title. ??? Sorry no pictures it is 400 miles away and I haven't even seen it.
Thanks for your input Paul and Jason

Re: 2wd 72 blazer
If that is the case he has a blazer body you need to pick up too that he would prob give you. It has lots of good blazer parts

Re: 2wd 72 blazer
I agree the title would be the bad thing about it, that would cut the price down some

Re: 2wd 72 blazer
Your right about title.I was thinking he could file for lost title or do the Broadway title thing out of Alabama. If you can still do that,I think I heard from a board member ,that I told about Broadway title,That they can't do it anymore.Any one got a title that way. They use a bill of sale only.No title on older cars in Alabama.Scott Mikel

Re: 2wd 72 blazer
A shortbed frame is worth $500 w/o a title.A rarer and very desirable 2wd Blazer frame is worth double.I`d pay as much as $1,000.And,there are other places than Broadway to get a title. The fact is,it`s rare,it`s a true 2wd frame, and matching VIN plate.Duplicate titles are just a piece of paper. The hard parts can`t be faked, neither can a legal title, original or not,it`s just the paper you need to get tags.I haven`t been able to find my titles and gotten duplicates many times. It`s never mattered.Actually, now I always get duplicates so I have a collection of dead titles as memories of past trucks.

Re: 2wd 72 blazer
here in maine you don't need the title to register a vehicle if it is more than (i can't remember how many) years and you have the bill of sale. only my 97 merc sable wagon DD required the title to register it. my 87 ram 50, 89 lesabre, 72 burb and 72 honda cb350 all just required a bill of sale!

Re: 2wd 72 blazer
In Mississippi and Louisiana you have to have a title to get registered and without that title you can only get a Bonded title and Louisiana will NOT allow you to register a Bonded title at all which means no one would be able to register that vehicle in the state of Louisiana. If you plan on keeping it for ever and your state allows you to register it without a title then you wont have a problem, but if you ever plan on selling it keep in mind that your neighboring states might not allow it to be registered in their state.

Re: 2wd 72 blazer
1sik52, That sucks about the bonded title set up in LA and MS. Here in TX when you get a bonded title the state treats it as a regular title. Vehicles with TX bonded titles are able to be registered, inspected, and transferred like any other clear title when the vehicle is sold. Then after two years of bieng bonded you turn the bonded title in and the state gives you a "regular" non bonded title. This is what I did with my 72' suburban and it has worked out great. It is also what I am going thru now on my 72' blazer. I thought TX was bieng tough but it sounds like LA and MS make it real hard to get a vehicle that has title issues.

Re: 2wd 72 blazer
Thanks for all the input. We went to look at it this weekend and it is what it is...nice straight original 72 2wd complete frame without engine or trans and body that has been stripped of all parts including top. The body has been left to the elements for years so it is shot but it does have the vin tag that matches the frame. We don't need it now but will go ahead and buy it because down the line ( after we find and do a 72 swb 4x4 ) we might do a blazer or some one on the board will need one.
Thanks again Paul
