I need help and wanted to ask AZ (phoenix) guys where I could get my 66 chevy truck wired???? Does anybody here do wiring? I have a 21 fuse universal kit that I want installed. Thanks for your help!!

I checked a couple places in Glendale, just off Glendale Ave. (over by the old sugar beet factory) and the lowest was $800. I would return the universal kit a get 60-66 specific kit. I bought a autowire kit and completed it in a weekend. I hate wires and this kit was super easy.

yea shops are kinda pricey, i think i went to nasa in glendale (near the highschool) and think they wanted a few hundred dollars. for me it was more like i can use the money elsewhere on the truck

so i did it myself. its not hard at all, my brother and i did it over a weekend using a $5 mini fuse block from autozone

this time i plan on buying one from ez-wiring and doing that myself.

I used the e-z wiring on my 1960 c10 ,worked beautiful

I also used EZ Wiring on my 59 Apache and it was EZ and worked well after install.

I would recommend you do the wiring yourself. It is relatively directional, and this way you will know all of the circuits and the locations if in the future you add accessories, etc. Take your time and do one section at a time. I usually segment my wiring jobs to sections of the vehicle, such as the rear harness, front light harness, engine harness, etc. This way, it's not so overwhelming. Also, have on hand a comprehensive terminal/connector kit, heatshrink tubing, heat gun, circuit tester, nice pair of dikes and crimpers, and lots and lots of zip ties. Good luck and I think you'll get a huge sense of satisfaction as you're making progress.

yea the worst thing is trying to figure out the mess someone else did. my last truck had a spaghetti bowl of mess in it. we found light switches piggy backed off light sockets etc and ended up ripping it all out

Thanks for all your input. I think I am leaning for towards selling this universal harness and buying a specific kit to fit our trucks. I like the one that JFraemohs posted in the last reply for $500. Does anyone know where else I can buy a harness for a good price? If anyone is interested in buying that universal wiring, let me know and we can talk.

So I did end up selling the universal harness today. Looks like I will be purchasing a harness specifically for my 66. Now, just have to install it. I think it should be easier to install than a universal harness. Here's the one I going to get....
