Did you seeTrucks on Spike TV today?
It was porbably a rerun but it was the first time i'd seen it.
The boy's went to a smash up durby in buttcrack redneck ville some where and all the vehicles in the durby were 73-87 Trucks except for one Ford in the bunch and boy did they put a hurtin on that thing! It was killin me to watch it but there were millions of 'em built. So what did you think about it? |

Re: Did you seeTrucks on Spike TV today?
I saw it. The thing that gets me is, I didn't see any rust on them. And they cut up a nice 73-80 front clip and ruined a good tailgate too.

That was a re-run, they have been doing that a lot lately. A lot of the time only 1 or 2 of the 4 shows is new.

Re: Did you seeTrucks on Spike TV today?
never been to a pick up demo derby. only car derbies and If Im not busy sometime I will be getting a car for one.. We also do combine demo derbies... not a waste because once a old combine goes bad. its aobut impossible to make it something again. if the drive train runs why not have fun with it

My boss showed me a picture of the 1968 GTO he cut up back in 1989 in order to make a stock car out of.
I'm sure you wouldn't have a problem hacking up a early 90's Chevy to do something with. I know I wouldn't.

Re: Did you seeTrucks on Spike TV today?
I caught that episode yesterday and I couldn't believe it. That was a decent truck they were welding on. Although the derby was cool. I couldn't bring myself to smashup a perfectly good sqaurebody.

Re: Did you seeTrucks on Spike TV today?
I did one, It isn't worth it. I used rusted parts that were not complete junk, but I wouldn't put them on my stuff. The cab is now pushed to the left 8" from where it should be on the frame, and the frame under the cab is left 12" from straight. The picture does not show it well, but the frame bent right behind the engine cross member. I was the only half ton two wheel drive there and I think the only one that looked at the rule book. Everyone else had 3/4 tons and most were 4x4 with reinforcement added. the cab shifted more then I thought it might and pulled the positive battery cable out of the lug on the starter. It was a hell of a spark show. Then the same guy hit the passenger door again and broke my battery open. I did put a Ford on its side though. They had to stop the derby to pull my truck off his.
