Another new guy (in MN)
Hi guys!
Been lurking (scavenging info) for a few days and thought I would introduce myself. Just bought a '68 GMC 2wd LWB Fleetside pick-um-up truck and while it drives ok and runs great, it needs a TON of interior stuff to make it a fun driver (it was a farm truck in ND for 30 years, then sat). I don't plan on restoring to original or for show or anything but do plan on keeping the outside as close as possible. Now I just need to figure out where to start...

Welcome dat, from Hotlanta. You may need to find Da'Burb and see if you are close enough to meet at a show.
Start with a notebook.Record the things you want to do to your truck and the things you need to do.That way you can come up with a plan on financing it and on doing things in order so you don't have to do somthing over.Good luck and keep the Board posted on your progress.

Welcome from Bismarck. What town are you from and where did you find that fine ND truck? I can tell your picture isn't from the Red River Valley of the North!
It looks to be in nice shape.

Thanks all.
Thanks for the tip PanelDeland, I already have a spreadsheet going (no notebooks for me!) and da-burb doesn't know it yet but he and I are going to become close friends! da-burb - Hi there! I'm about halfway between Mpls and St. Cloud outside of Elk River so you arn't very far away. toms68cst - The truck is from up in Garrison (south of Minot for all the non-natives). I'm originally from just off the south side of the lake right on Beulah Bay and still have tons of family up there. btw - You can't tell from the snow, but the windshield is really trashed. On the plus side, it came with the ND dealer option of a double gun rack!

Welcome
Another welcome from S. Miss.
It appears to me that the first thing to do would be to try to get it thawed out. I spent three years with snow in Northern Germany and promised myself that if I ever got away from it , I would stay South. If I decide to go further South, I am going to have to wade. EdB |
