Parts book
Can someone post up a pic of the correct parts manual for the 60-66 Chevy trucks? Is there a separate one for just trucks, or is it combined with car parts? The GMC manual is BIG and mine is not illustrated. But it also dips back into the 50's trucks.

Re: Parts book
Question Tony - I've heard you mention the Silver Book several times. What specifically is in the book? Is it part numbers, or interchanges, or a master listing of authorized accessories? Just curious. Thanks.

Re: Parts book
I have most of those for my years. But I don't have a Chevrolet parts book. So who's got a real parts book?

Re: Parts book
Anyone got scanned manuals for c10's and 20's ? I
bought a glove box manual on "Fleabay". Scared to touch it as it dried out and the pages break if you bend em too much. The spine won't take many more open's and closes. At least it was only 15 bucks I got ripped for... |

Time consuming when you only get a couple hours tops an evening after work. Head is in getting "Flattened", SB back today/tomor... Last edited by driftbuster; 03-02-2010 at 09:02 AM. |

Re: Parts book
K-Ten,
what are you looking for? An interchange list? The actual parts book like they used at the dealership? I can only imagine that the parts dealers books would only be available used. American Classic sells an interchange manual, which is just a bunch of pages of descriptions and part numbers. They also sell this: Chevrolet Truck Parts Manuals CD, 4 volumes including 1938-64 Body Parts Manual, 1938-64 Chassis Parts and Accessories Manual, and 1946-72 Truck Parts Catalog I dunno if that is what you are looking for or not tho'. Some other vendors may sell something similar. -W The Chevy/GMC Trucks Parts Vendors List |

Here is the language unside the front cover: Your double goal in selling Chevrolet trucks is to mke a profit and to build customer good will so they will think first of you when again in need of new trucks. The SILVER BOOK IS DESIGNED ESPECIALLY TO HELP YOU ACHIEVE BOTH OF THESE AIMS. The SILVER BOOK provides you with a vast fund of information aobut the special equipment that purchasers need to enable a truck to satisfactorily perform a particular job. It tells you about the equipment itself, who manufacturers it, and where it may be obtained. It covers: CHEVROLET Truck Specifications Toppers, Campers and Coaches Utility Beds, Grain Beds and Farm Bodies Aluminum Bodies, Step-Vans & Special Needs Equipment Bumpers & Grille Gauards School Buses, School Bus Conversions, Ambulances, Crew Cabs & Limos Air-Ride Seats Mirrors Delco-Remy Equipment Filtering Systems Fuel Tanks (specifically for heavy-duty models) Hubs, Suspension Systems & Braking Sysstems Wheels & Tires Winches, PTO's & Towing Snow Plows Specialized Bodies & Utility Boxes Fire Trucks, Dump Beds & Garbage Beds There is a Silver Book for each of the years from '60-'66...I am not sure about the earlier & later years, but I am sure they had them for other years, as well. |

Yes Tony, thanks also for the reply. I missed it in the thread until doing a recent search on the topic.
