Windshield squirter
I cleaned up my wiper bezels and noticed they have the tube for a squirter. What is everyone using for aftermarket squirters with the pumps on the tank? Any good junk yard prospects? I am running a 59 GMC electric motor with no provision for the motor mounted type. Thanks Patrick

Re: Windshield squirter
If it's raining, they don't need the squirter! They are already wet.
I wonder if the '54 bel air bezels will go on my '54 pick up to give me the option...for ifn I drive in the snow. |

Re: Windshield squirter
I tend not to drive my old truck when its raining. While it does not have squirters its got more to do with the wiper speed. It often rains just a little here and you really need intermittent wipers. So I drive something newer that had those and don't think much about squirters.

Re: Windshield squirter
I'd say just about any car at the junk yard with the squirter motor built into the tank will work, Just wire it, mount it, and plumb it.

Re: Windshield squirter
I purchased a pump from Newport Wipers. I plan on using one of the stainless surge tanks as my windshield washer reservoir.

Re: Windshield squirter
I picked up a Princess Auto washer tank/pump combo for about $10. It comes with a mounting bracket so you can put it on the firewall.
Just need to install it! Anyone mount nozzles in thier hood...what kind did you use? Last edited by Atomsplitter; 05-01-2010 at 02:38 PM. |

Re: Windshield squirter
The one out of a 85-87 chevy should work, its got the pump on the back side of the tank, but i think a lot of newer (well newer than 87) chevys have pretty much the same setup too.

Re: Windshield squirter
On my old 70 stepside, I got one out of a S-10. Make sure you get the grommet also. Then just drill a hole in your washer tank and install it. It has to be at the bottom of the tank. Then wire it up and your set.
