Frame swap
What mods will i have to do to make my 76 body 350/350 fit on a 83 straght six three on the tree frame?

none just dont use the parts for the linkage for the clutch

i had an 82 chevy c10 van that had it years ago... i dont think it lasted much beyond that

Your cab mount bushings will probably be different. I think in 76 they were 2" hole and 83 it's 1 1/2" or vice versa I'm puttin an 84 cab on a 76 chassis and that's what I found

you use the cab mounts for the frame thats the way i did it when i stuck my 81 cab on the 76 frame

i heard they made them in 87 very rare they were mostly fleet trucks

I believe the front frame horns are shaped a little different between 73-80 and 81-87 for the different bumpers. Maybe someone else that knows more about this will chime in.

Well i just found out that the 83 frame is realy a 82 frame so is there any difference?

Actually, till at least '87. I once pulled apart an '87 Chevy short conversion van that was very odd. It was a conversion van with manual windows and locks, a TBI 4.3 and a cast iron 3 speed that had been converted to floor shift. You kind of had to reach backward to shift it
