How do i identify this gov lock carrier?? - The 1947 - Present Chevrolet & GMC Truck Message Board Network

Picked up a gov lock carrier with no ring and pinion. How can you tell what series this carrier it is. I tryed the ring gear from my old carrier (373) but it seems to thin ???? Any help would be great

Should be a number cast into the carrier. Use that to search out your info.
