XKUT Tie Rod Reamer
My K10 steering rod ( drag link ) is not available so I'm going to covert it to the 67-91 double tie rod with sleeve set up. The new tie rods have a larger diameter taper so I'm going to ream the openings to accomadate the new tie rods. They are the same 1 1/2" taper per foot as the old drag link. Willing to share the reamer after I'm finished. The small end of the reamer is 7/16" and the large end is 1".

Re: XKUT Tie Rod Reamer
Hey Aerotruck,
Just a question. I am interested in why you are reaming the tapers rather than using an adapter sleeve to allow using the small inner tie rods and the large outer tie rods? I suppose the drag link has plenty of beef to allow the larger tapers? Good to see your posts again by the way. TR

Re: XKUT Tie Rod Reamer
I have one of their reamers and it is a nice quality made in USA piece. I've only used it once so far, but when I needed one I couldn't find one locally.....anywhere....machine shops, auto repair shops, no one had one. Now I have one.

Re: XKUT Tie Rod Reamer
Aerotruck,
OK. I got out the books. I didn't know the K's worked that way. So what you are doing seems perfectly reasonable. Good to know. I hope to have a 65 K10 someday if Tony doesn't restore them all before I can get one. TR

Get a few, you'll need the parts.
