Found a GREAT parts truck ...

Bought this one this weekend ... less the wheels shown ... no motor or tranny ... rust free/dent free doors ... rust free 68 front clip-a few "dings" but nothing major ... dent free/rust free stepside bed, but has the spare tire cut-out in DS fender ... very good cab - minimal rust (needs rockers and corners patched) - but has had dash cut out under dash pad ... 3.73 Posi-Trac rear-end ... here's the best part ...$400

Was my neighbor's truck .... he needed cash FAST!

the truck isnt "streetable" like it is ... no brakes on rear-end ... brakes BARELY work on front ... inside is gutted ... no steering column, only a piece of mild steel tubing WELDED to home-made rag joint and held under the dash with an oversize HEIM joint ... bed has had all the floor and supports TORCHED out ... he used it as a race car at the local strip.

I plan on using the front clip, bedsides, trailing arms and doors ... and then will probably use the replaced parts from my other truck to re-assemble this one and then resell ...

Oh yeah ... check out the CHROME COWL!

hey longhornmail ... i think i can "round up" enough "parts" to put together another stepside bed ... I have got peices from 3 different beds laying around & Columbus isn't that far of a weekend drive down to North Alabama ... 472 miles - 7 hours 19 minutes, estimate by Yahoo! Maps

Why would you use this one for parts? Looks like you need to fix this one up instead.

They don't make these anymore guys. Time to stop parting them out.

Im using parts from this one to finish a truck that is alot nicer... the parts i replace on the 2nd truck will be used to reassemble this one ... no one said anything about "parting" this one out ... only doing some "swapping" of parts ....

Maybe your topic name confused me? "Found a great parts truck?"

He found a great truck to use some parts off of for his current project, then he'll take the parts that he had for his current project, put them on this truck, and sell it. That's what I understood anyway. Maybe I'm just the confused one

Shane looks like you got a great deal. I'm sure it will help with your project alot. I think its great when someone finds a good donor truck to use for their project, instead of tourching and junking one, or letting it sit and rot away in a field.
