Are these any good? Will I notice a difference with this installed on my truck? Are there better options than this one? Thanks

trak loc is just the ford trade name for the same carrier in the power lock Danas. You will notice a difference betwen a posi and a non posi rear. In a big way. Dont buy a new onethough. You can get a complete power lock posi rear in the junkyard for a few hundred less than a new dana 60 posi unit. Theyre heavy duty units and almost never wear out. I love mine.

What am I talking about? Its been so long since Ive seen one I forgot they were 2 spider carriers compared to the power lock 4 spider . The 4 spider power loc is a brute! The track locks not so.

The Trak-lok is Dana's trade name for limited slip as Traction Lock is Ford's and Positraction is GM's. As Mike noted, two pinion vs. four pinion separates the trak-lok from power-lok. The track lok is fine for 99% of applications. Actually it has a one piece case instead of the two piece case of the powerlok, which makes the case stronger even if the guts are not. A wash IMO, especially for reasonably low powered street use. (Meaning less than 500 hp)
