Re: fenderless 61 ??
are you talking just running without a fender until you find a good one?
I saw a guy in town run w/out front fenders for a few years, until he got some good ones.

I dunno about running without front fenders..... but I really dig the way these trucks look lowered with no bed on them. I also really dig lowered with no hood.

Re: fenderless 61 ??
Pretty wicked. My brother in law has an extra cab and we're always talking about building a ratrod roadster with it.

Re: fenderless 61 ??
I guess those pics should answer your question, it would look like an abortion. If you want a fenderless car go buy a model A or something, don't try to make one of these trucks what they are not, and enough with this rat rod crap. Why would you intentionally build an unsafe, ugly, piece of s**t!

Re: fenderless 61 ??
for real
rat rod was at one time the "cool" thing to have i guess not any more i think the use of the term rat rod i way over used anyone with a crapy pos just says well it's a rat rod. i do agree that the pics are all a little far out there but when did that become a bad thing i kinda allways that was the point to think out side the box. if i wanted the norm i would drive a honda.

Re: fenderless 61 ??
I would like to apologize to rain_man, I didn't mean to turn your thread into a little cry baby ***** fest. I had voiced my opinion, which apparently fell on deaf ears, and some people chose to turn it into a personal attack. It always amazes me how some people can put their big boy britches on when they're hiding behind a keyboard and monitor, and talk all the smack they want about people they don't know. Any further replies will go on unresponded by me. So please lets return to our regularly scheduled RR talk.

Re: fenderless 61 ??
The point I was trying to make is that it is a term that gets way overused, and misused. There's a local guy here that has a RR '97 Altima, because he rattle canned it black, painted the wheels red, and sprayed on some whitewalls. Rat Rods NEVER were the "cool" thing, it was just a buzz word used mostly by the uninformed. By definition a Rat Rod is something that is intentionally build as a piece of crap, see examples at the top of the page. An unfinished car, primered car, traditional rod, or anything with whitewalls is not a RR. It's all symantics, but words mean things.

Re: fenderless 61 ??
Rat Rods are like Rap music, They're not going anywhere. So like it or not, get used to it. And from what I have read and seen, RR's started as cars/trucks built with several different car/truck parts, to reflect ones personality and to stick it to traditional hot rodders.
