wierd size spare tire on my 79
i pulled my spare off since i was getting new tires and it read Goodyear H7815 LT. can anyone tell what the size would be now it says the same on my door. the tire looks brand new but i had it replaced i did keep it though. the tires on it now are 235/7515 is that the right size? the old tire says steel belted bias i never heard of one.
shoot me something if anyone knows something |

I am no expert but a quick google came up with this Tire Size Conversion Chart If I'm reading the chart correctly, an H78/15 translates into a 225/75R15. Bias Ply was the tire design before Radials were developed. Looks like we are both showing our ages.
 I have 235/75 15's on my truck also. They are a little taller I believe and may throw the speedo off a tad. I'm sure someone with more knowledge will correct anything that I have wrong.

he is right.. they used to do letters.. i run 235 in the back to handle more weight and make the truck more stable and 225 up front

I also just found this cool little Tire Size Calculator that will show you how a different tire size will effect your speedometer.
