Re: RARE! 1970 1/2 ton longbed stepside in louisville KY
I would be floored if he got anywhere near that for a long bed step side. I could be wrong but I didnt think there was a large demand for them. Time will tell. We are budget building one now and are trying to stay under $2000 because we doubt we can get that back out of it!
RARE?.....as what?

What's rare about it? Also, Monte Carlo SS's never came with a 350 ... 305 only.

Re: RARE! 1970 1/2 ton longbed stepside in louisville KY
Yep, I agree with you all the price does seem to be a bit high.
I have a '71 long step-side I am working on now. We just dropped a '73 454 in it out of a one ton Chevy. I like the stepsides myself, I have one of each - long and short. It does seem that most people like the fleets better though. Hopefully I will get it fixed up and painted this year. Danny

Re: RARE! 1970 1/2 ton longbed stepside in louisville KY
Long stepsides are popular with the Motorcycle crowd as a big harley fits nice in that bed. Other then that---AGHHHHHH.

Re: RARE! 1970 1/2 ton longbed stepside in louisville KY
I've got a soft spot for the long stepsides myself. A buddy of mine growing up used drive his grandfathers 67 long bed step and let me drive it several times. Gee I wonder why I have a thing for blue 67's? LOL It had a 250 6 cyl and a granny 4 speed. The shocks were bad and I could get it to hop the front wheels off the ground. The things we do when we're young!
