Shaved door handles where to start?
Can anyone recommend a good kit and the steps / process, also what I need to buy to do this. I believe that I will also need door poppers? Are bear claws mandatory etc.?
Help is greatly appreciated. Mark |

Re: Shaved door handles where to start?
A good kit will come with door poppers... IMO, they are a must a long with a remote hard wired button to pop it in case your remote dies. Usually mounted inside a wheel well or rocker panel.

We have complete power door kits in stock that come with a remote and poppers $189.00 Bear claws will allow the door to open up easier and latch alot better complete kit with latches and strikers and install panels $100.00we have in stock.Keep in mind this will require welding to install the latches. There is a bolt in kit on the market that is a bolt on for the latches. This kit cost alot more money. all parts I have mentioned we have in stock if you are intrested e-mail or p/m me justin@scottshotrods.com Justin www.scottshotrods.com |

In MY opinion, forget the hardwired button. Install a hidden release cable. If the battery dies (and they always do eventually) a hard wired button won't help you.

Actually both are pretty handy to have. I wouldnt worry about the remote dying but the solenoids do go out eventually and truck batteries die. I drove a shaved truck for 2 years daily. I didnt have either swich or cable, I got pretty good at breaking in through the wing window though.

Re: Shaved door handles where to start?
I was told that with the bear claw installed you don't need the door poppers. The claw kind of "kicks" the door open a bit for you to grab the door and open it. I installed the bear claw latches on mine and shaved the door handles. Right now I am in the middle of body work and have the doors off but opening the mechanism seemed to be fine without the poppers installed.

Re: Shaved door handles where to start?
The kit came in today Justin.
Might have a few questions for the install when I get to it. Jeff was very good to deal with also. Thanks for the GREAT service. Mark |
